A Little of This, A Little of That

I've been up at the family cabin outside of Nisswa, Minn., for the last few days trying to escape the sweltering temps and humidity.

While here I've been doing quite a bit of this:

which inevitably leads to this...

orange bluet (male)
and then more of this:

white-faced meadowhawk (male)

and even some of this:

preening black and white warbler (female)

Hope you're enjoying the last few weeks of summer as well!

Be sure to check out all the other fun posts for Our World Tuesday.

    1. Small world! Hope they didn't get too hard by those wicked storms last night. I think we caught them just as they were forming...

I love following a fellow Minnesotan's blog, Amanda. It's fun to read :-)

  5. Back in the dim and distant past I lived on the edge of an English lake - and the best way to end the day was drifting about in a canoe watching the sun set behind the hills - although I called them mountains!

I think I need to buy a boat!

    Cheers - Stewart M.

    PS: great pictures!

    1. Egads - you don't have a kayak? I'd spend all my time in it if I lived in the gorgeous area you live in, Stewart :-) Go out and get one!!!

  10. Your first scene is what you would want when escaping heat:) Here it's still pretty decent even though it's low 90ties, because it's a dry heat in CA.

    1. Humidity just kills me - please send some dry heat this way! Or fall. I'd take fall, too...

  11. We go out on the water at our float cabin a lot, but it's been a while since we used our ocean kayak. That's always fun. I live off the grid about 75% of the year in BC and then back to the city part of the time to get some personal business done. For me, I'd rather be up the lake than in town. - Margy
