Well, I didin't think it was possible to find birds more difficult to photograph than warblers, but the tiny kinglets sure seem to be. I was completely surrounded by both Golden-crowned and Ruby-crowned for five full days. What do I have to show for that? This:
Maybe I should stick with moths... (any ideas on species?)
The shot still exhibits the daintiness of the bird and its prominent colorations. It's like a cross between a lesser goldfinch and a warbling vireo. I enjoyed too that it was more engaged with its habitat instead of doing the "out on an open stick" thing many photographers wait for to get better lighting and more pop.
ReplyDeleteI like the photo and appreciate of the reminder of the Golden-Crowned Kinglet, a very pretty and under-publicized bird.
Best Regards,
Laurence
